Many translators and interpreters already shine in their work for JTC. Nonetheless, as we look to expand our business, we actively accept applications from translators and interpreters who are interested in working with us. If you are a translator or interpreter who specializes in a particular field, or you want to utilize your skills in investigating various fields with interest and curiosity, by all means apply! If you have at least two years of practical experience, you can play an active role regardless of your age.

Of course, we are looking for translators possessing strong linguistic skills and powers of comprehension, but we also value the ability to write clearly so that content can be understood even by non-specialist readers. Moreover, because we provide commercial translation services, we expect our translators to deliver translations that satisfy our clients’ needs while strictly adhering to deadlines. We want translators who approach translation with a business mindset.

For interpreters, strong communication skills are essential. We are looking for people capable of proactive communication in situations ranging from liaison with JTC’s representatives to interaction with clients. While our interpreters primarily work in the Tokyo metropolitan area, on rare occasions we ask them to go overseas.

Application Requirements
- Applicants must have at least two years’ experience in translation or interpreting as a professional or the equivalent.
- If applying to be a dispatched translator or interpreter, applicants must have experience as an in-house translator or interpreter at a company or have abilities corresponding to such experience.
- Persons with experience in simple simultaneous interpreting involving whispering or the use of simple simultaneous interpreting devices (PanaGuide) may also apply.
- Persons with experience studying at an interpreting school may also apply. (Persons currently attending such a school are also invited to inquire about applying.)
Environment
Applicants must have a PC-based work environment having internet and e-mail capability.

For the e-mail subject line, enter “JTC一般” if you wish to be registered under “A. Freelance” or “JTC派遣” if you wish to be registered under “B. Dispatching”” Set a password for your résumé file, and notify us of the password using a separate e-mail. -
STEP.03
Applicants who pass the document screening stage will be asked to undergo JTC’s trial. Those who pass the trial will be interviewed and then registered as a JTC translator or interpreter.
